Konstruktor Build Your Own Camera Kit

Over the past few months with Christmas having been and gone and today being valentines day I've seen so many 'gift ideas for her' posts flying around filled with the same bath products and gift sets but when it comes to presents (for yourself or someone else) it is nice to get something a little different every now and then. What I'm talking about today definitely fits that bill, I think this is perfect for bloggers, especially those who fancy a challenge and have a love for cameras! It might be the middle of February but it is never too late in the year to try something new or take up a new hobby!

This Konstruktor kit comes with everything you need to make your own fully working 35mm SLR Camera, I've never seen anything like this and when it first came through the letterbox I had no idea that the camera would actually work so that was a very pleasant surprise! I think it makes for a very interesting challenge as well and who doesn't love the pride you get when you can look at something and say you made it.

I started to build this and actually found it a lot easier than I thought it would be, the instructions are very visual which took a while for me to get my head round as I work better with written instructions but having so many diagrams and pictures was extremely helpful when it came to the smaller pieces. Each piece is labelled with a letter and number as well to make it easier. Unfortunately though about a third of the way through I had to stop, hence why there is no finished piece photo, as due to the problems I have in my hands I wasn't able to do any of the small fiddly parts. However, if you have fully functioning hands then I don't think you'll have any problems and you'll have yourself a rather lovely camera at the end of it.

I think this would make such a nice gift for camera enthusiasts but also anyone who just fancies trying something a bit different and new. It's £34.99 from Qwerkity which isn't a bad price at all in my eyes, you get to enjoy putting the camera together, use it and then have it as a lovely display piece perhaps (you'll certainly impress a few family members by saying you build it yourself!).

*I was sent this product for review purposes but this does not change my opinion and I am always 100% honest.
