| All the Best |
Coloured Raine is an Indie cosmetic company from the USA. They're mainly known for their liquid to matte lip products which come in a range of colours and finishes. Coloured Raine has been featured on many celebs as well as popular "influencers" *gags at the term* - from Gabrielle Union to Rihanna and popular vloggers - no pout seems able to resist the lure of their liquid to matte lacquer and I was no different. Beauty Bay had some sort of discount sale and I was caught between going loco or playing safe. Evidently, I played safe choosing a red and a brown to quench my appetite.
Let's get to it ...
The packaging is sturdy but, the design lacks cohesion with the company name *meow*. There's something about it that makes me feel like each tube style is a "project in progress". Maybe if there was a logo clasp of a raindrop it would look more put together and memorable. Kinda like Giorgio Armani's liquid lipsticks but, with a raindrop or a CR - not sure if the companies patented that idea though (?). Alright while I've got my claws out - the wand is a rather inflexible doe foot, which I feel makes application not particularly fluid and picks up product awkwardly. Yet, I'll get to the reason why I dislike the applicator later on. Let me first talk about the good bits ...

| Cherry Blossom and Whatever. Two pigmented pretty shades. |
Coloured Raine's formula is nice . Its a liquid to matte kiss proof wonder that has no scent and various colours to choose from. I can't really complain. If you're after a no-bull liquid lipstick without scented frills, gimmicky packaging and a formula that will not tear up, crack up and split your lips - you've found your fancy. Yet comparing Colored Raine to the other liquid lipstick in my Beauty Bay order - Dose of Colors Berry Me 2 - I was left somewhat underwhelmed. Maybe its because of the bland shades I choose (keep in mind many colours quickly became out of stock) or the fact that I have so many liquid to matte lipsticks, that I've become sickeningly spoilt and annoyingly picky.
Cherry Blossom: A deep blue based red. Very pretty, this will work on dare I say it - all skin tones. Its the perfect red that unless you hate red lipstick cannot be refused. Best thing is about it? The comfortable kiss proof formula that is not drying or crumbly with wear.
Whatever: A deep brown. No shame, I bought this shade for the name. Its a filler word I unfortunately tend to say when I have run dry of rebuttals for sassy comments that have been tossed at me - when in doubt whatever cancels it out. Anyway, that's what my lips will be saying. I find browns hard to work with at times on me but, I really like this one - having a great formula certainly helps too.
To conclude
Honestly, the main fault I have is pretty mild but, I thought I'd at least mention it. Ahem - there are times when I have applied the lip colour, blotted my lips together and the colour seeps out on my lip line giving me an almost "overdone lip liner" look (ahh!). So I end up trying to smudge it out with my finger or giving up completely. Other than that ... their pretty sophisticated and faultless to a point of being boringly good. I'd say Coloured Raine suits the no quibble person who prefers scentless, pigmented products that will feel just as good as they look.
Note to have the best application - wipe off the applicator (which I think is the cause of the fault) apply carefully and try not to blot your lips together and you'll be fine. The formula takes a while to dry so any disturbance might lead to dreaded blurred lines (messy application). I'd recommend small rounded strokes that rub the product in and gently trace around your lip line.
Price: Usually £15.00 each but, depending on the shades there's usually some discount. Despite this, I think its pretty pricey and would like to see some more strides in packaging to par with the quality formula - if anything have better doe foots. I'm only criticising to fortify - so keep that in mind. Overall because these liquid lipsticks are pigmented, transfer proof and not-drying on the lips they are certainly worth a look at/try.
Have you tried Coloured Raine liquid lipsticks?
