New Zealand done, it was time to head on down under and begin our travels around Australia. First stop was Sydney and Bondi Beach was begging to be visited. We took the clifftop coastal walk from Coogee Beach up to Bondi Beach and were in awe at the crystal blue waters, isolated bays and beautiful scenery. It was definitely one of my favourite parts of the holiday and would recommend it to anyone planning on visiting the city. Much like our path in New Zealand, we jumped in our trusty hire car, stuck on some Bob Marley and headed east up the coast through Byron Bay, Brisbane and onto the Sunshine Coast. One thing Australia does well is a good beach. That, and Tim Tams, which seemed to constitute half my suitcase's weight on the flight home! Byron Bay, Rainbow Beach, Airlie Beach - they were all stunning and offered postcard-worthy pictures and perfectly located bars for a drink at sunset.

One of the highlights of our trip was the two day boat trip we took out to the Whitsunday Islands which allowed us to snorkel amongst the colourful fish in the Coral Reef and spend time on Whitehaven Beach which is even more exquisite than the photos suggest, despite the rain. The whole experience was definitely worth the seasickness! We said farewell to Australia with a couple of nights in Melbourne and a stomach-flipping journey up to the 88th floor of the Eureka Skydeck to get a bird's eye view of the city. It is definitely one of the most fascinating places I have visited for a while, where beach meets park, meets lake, meets palm tree, meets skyscraper. The nightlife is incredible and the discovery of two vegetarian restaurant practically opposite each other made our time there that extra bit sweeter!
