Dior Gris City

Gris City is a pre-spring collection that was just released the other week from Dior. This little collection consists of nail polish shades only, all of which are named after streets in major cities such as New York City and Paris. The shades of nail polish are all silvers and grays, which makes sense since "gris" is the word for "gray" in the French language. I have been interested in silver lacquer shades since last fall so this promises to be a strong collection for me. And when it is combined with name from Paris and New York... This little collection has me written all over it.

The description of the nail polish from the Dior website, "Never before has the color of the new Dior Vernis displayed such lacquered and vibrant shine! A cocktail of Shine and Sparkle Amplifying active ingredients directs pigments and pearly particles to enhance light reflection tenfold. Once again, the array of enchanting shades created by Tyen reflect Galliano's imagination and the spirit of Dior fashion shows. Application is even easier with the new brush. Dior Vernis also features a new chip-resistant formula the protects and embellishes the nails, day after day".

The three shades...

- Gris Montaigne, Paris - Sleek and elegant, the very iconic color of the Dior House.

- Bond Street, London - A gray London fog infused with a touch of blue, urban chic.

- NY 57th, New York - A metallic asphalt, a homage to the dusky light of the Manhattan skyline.

I predict that all three shades will sell out very quickly, especially in the cities after they were named for. I can't even pick which one is my favorite becuase I just love all three of them and would rock all three of them from the end of winter all the way until the next holiday season. I think these are lovely shades and I think this collection was a great idea on the part of Dior. Dior and my favorite cities? What a combination!
