I first fell in love with Kanebo Revue Still Keep Powder Foundation. With the smooth and very flawless finish, how could I not? It feels so light and silky and the texture is just amazing. Even though the oil control isn't as good as MAC and Shiseido's, I'm cool with it. Well it is really made for oily skin though. I love how my face looks dewy when it starts to oil up a bit. So when the powder foundie refill broke, I had to get another one as that's how much I have learned to like Kanebo. But when I went to the Kanebo Counter, I was told by the friendly SA that Revue has been discontinued and Coffret D'or replaced it. They do have stocks of Revue left and my shade, BE-C, still has a few refills left. But then if it has been discontinued, chances are they will no longer be available in a year or two. And besides, I still have more than half of the refill left. In powdered, crushed form. :( I got the same shade in Coffret D'or - BE-C. After using it for more than a week now, I'll share what I think of Coffret D'or Powder Foundation.
Pros:
- Provides a smooth and flawless finish.
- Texture is amazing. Skin feels so smooth and soft.
- Feels light on the skin.
- Provides medium coverage.
- Powder is finely milled.
- Blends well with the skin.
- Skin looks dewy when skin starts to oil up.
- Coverage is buildable.
- Unscented.
- Locally available at Rustan's.
Cons:
- Staying power isn't as good as Revue.
- Even though the refill is a hundred bucks cheaper than Revue, it is still expensive for PHP2000.
- A separate compact has to be bought for PHP600. I passed on it since I have the Lunasol compact.
Will I buy again? Maybe. But I would like to try Faircrea or Freshel next.
Overall rating: 4.5/5. If oil control and lasting power is better than or at least as good as Revue, then I would've given it a 5.
Coffret D'or on me
And oh, two awards I received from Martha and Twinsouls888. Thanks, ladies. :)
Have a great Sunday, everyone. I have another interview tomorrow morning. :P
